How to report a seller on Facebook

This article will explain how to spot infringements of your product and how to report a seller using different reporting options on Facebook.

It can be difficult and confusing to file claims for copyright infringement on social networking platforms. Although the Copyright Act provides legal protection, and social media companies have policies to help with copyright issues. The reality is that rights holders must identify and notify any copyright infringement on social media platforms. Counterfeits or trademark infringements

You must log into Facebook to file a Facebook report.You can report a Facebook seller for brand abuse by filling out the Trademark Report Form, marking the boxes below.

Check the boxes below for contact information:

  • Please send me my contact information
  • Myself or my organization

Then, fill in the remaining contact information as necessary.

Complete the following fields for trademark information in the next section:

  • Send us your trademark information
  • Name of your trademark
  • Which country is where your trademark is registered?
  • Your trademark registration number
  • Category of goods (Per Nice Classification).

  • Upload your trademark registration documentation (optional but highly recommended).

You can submit multiple submissions at once by clicking the "I have additional trademarks” box.

Fill out the Counterfeit Report form below to report Counterfeit.

  • Choose the right form of content that infringes on your trademark
  • Copy and paste the links, as many as possible.
  • Additional information about your report is required

It is recommended that you explain why the infringing material hosts products which aren't authorized or official by you, or the trademark holder.

You can sign the electronic signature by entering your full name.

Facebook Copyright Infringements: Reporting

You can report Copyright by filling out the Copyright Report Form. Follow the same steps as the counterfeit report (images at the top).

  • Select the option "I found content that I believe infringes on my copyright."
  • "Continue with my Copyright Report"

Next, you will be asked for your contact information.

  • Copyright owner - Choose "Me" or "My organization".
  • Your name
  • Your job responsibility in relation to copyright.
  • Mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  • Name of the rights owner
  • This is you, or the organization that you represent.
  • Location of rights owner

Next, follow the steps for reporting counterfeit products as described above and refer to:

  • You want to report on content
  • Your Copyrighted Work(s).

You should include links to your website, social networks, and any other places where your copyrighted work might be found.

Reporting a design violation

It is more difficult to report and remove design infringements on Facebook than it is with other forms intellectual property. It's still worthwhile to file reports.

You can use the Trademark Form, or the Counterfeit Form to report a design infringement.

Locarno Classification is used instead for the category of goods.

Explain why the content violates the registered design and that the reported content copies the registered unique form of the design.

You can also report design infringement via the Copyright Report Form. This will allege that links are infringing upon artwork.
